The FAAC supports community and strives to create projects and programs that build on the community strength that already exists in Forest County. Below are some completed and in-progress FAAC projects and cooperative efforts.

  • Lumberman Statue
Funded by the Lumber Heritage Region and the John Nesbitt Rees and Sarah Henne Rees Charitable Foundation, this bronze statue commemorates the men who cut the timber that built homes, businesses, bridges, oil derricks, railroads, and more, up and down the eastern U.S. This was a joint project spearheaded by the FAAC, in partnership with the Forest County Historical Society and PA Great Outdoors Visitor’s Bureau/Forest County Visitor Center. The artist created the clay statue at the Visitor Center during the Tionesta Indian Festival, giving the public the opportunity to learn about the art form and adding some clay to the statue themselves. Once cast in bronze at the artist’s studio, it was brought back to Tionesta and installed in the lawn at the Forest County History Center located at 206 Elm Street, Tionesta.
  • Peace, Faith, Freedom
This is an FAAC project currently underway with plans to install it at Peace Park on Lighthouse Island in Tionesta. It will consist of three panels featuring the work of local artists, each panel representing Peace, Faith, Freedom.
